A fair question
Honestly: on most of it we are at par. Channels, threads, mentions, search, reactions, huddles with video and screen share. If chat is all you want, Slack is a fine chat tool and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
The question is different from the one people ask. It is not which chat app is better. It is whether it makes sense to pay for a second place to talk about work, when the work is here, and to accept that half of what your team decides ends up somewhere your records cannot see.
