Every completed agreement gets a unique fingerprint of the file itself. Anyone checking it later has the document re-checked on the spot, not looked up in a list. Alter a word, swap a page or replace the file and the check reports it as changed.

Prove exactly when it was signed.
The time on every agreement is issued by a public timestamping authority, not by us. DigiCert signs it, with a second authority as backup so a signature never fails to complete. The date on your contract is not ours to move, and not yours either.

Nobody has changed a word since it was executed.

Compare that against the document hash printed in the README. If one character of the agreement had been altered, one byte moved, or a page swapped, this line would be completely different. There is no partial match with a hash.
Hashes shown are made up. The commands are the ones printed in the bundle, and they were run against a real bundle before this page was written.

The second the last signature lands the agreement is finished and locked, and the signed file is kept somewhere your own administrators cannot overwrite. Both sides get the executed file and the certificate together, automatically.
