The middle column is the Central Bank's own figure. The right column is worked out from it.
These are not the rates your bank or exchange house gives you. They are the Central Bank's rates, the ones the VAT law uses for invoices.

Exchange rates, explained
Which exchange rate goes on a UAE tax invoice?
The rate approved by the Central Bank of the UAE on the date of supply. The VAT law requires the amount to be converted into dirhams at that rate, and the Executive Regulation requires the invoice to show the VAT in dirhams with the rate applied.
What if the Central Bank published no rate on the date of supply?
The Bank publishes on working days. For a weekend or holiday, this helper uses the latest table published before the date and tells you so.
Why does the US dollar always show 3.6725?
The dirham is pegged to the US dollar at 3.6725, so the Central Bank's rate for the dollar does not move.
Where do these rates come from?
From the table the Central Bank of the UAE publishes, collected each working day. The date of the table is shown with every rate. Until this page is connected to live data, the rates shown are from our latest snapshot of the Central Bank's table, dated 16 October 2026.
The law behind these figures
Every figure on this page comes from the rules below, checked 17 October 2026.
Federal Decree-Law No. 8 of 2017 on Value Added Tax
- Art. 69An invoice in another currency is converted into dirhams at the exchange rate approved by the Central Bank on the date of supply.
- Art. 3A standard rate of 5% VAT applies to taxable supplies and imports, unless the law zero-rates or exempts them.
Cabinet Decision No. 52 of 2017 (VAT Executive Regulation)
- Art. 59(1)(k)A tax invoice shows the VAT payable in dirhams together with the exchange rate applied.
- Art. 61VAT worked out to a fraction of a fils may be rounded to the nearest fils.
