How the working days calculator counts
How are working days counted?
Working days, also called business days, are every day from the start date to the end date, both included, minus your weekend days and the UAE public holidays that fall on working days. A holiday on a weekend is counted once.
Which weekend should I choose?
The government works Monday to Friday with Saturday and Sunday off. Private-sector weekends vary by employer, so pick the one in your contract.
Does it include Eid?
Yes. Confirmed holidays use the announced dates; future Islamic holidays use the expected dates until they are announced, and the result says when it relies on them.

Cabinet Resolution No. 27 of 2024 on public holidays
- Art. 1One list of public holidays for the government and the private sector: New Year, Eid Al Fitr, Arafat Day, Eid Al Adha, Hijri New Year, the Prophet's Birthday and National Day. Islamic holidays follow the moon, and the Cabinet may move a holiday other than the Eids to the start or end of the week.
