Sync Chat

AI in Sync Chat Three things the assistant will do to a message, and what each costs.

Any message can be handed to the assistant. Three actions, all from the message itself.

Summarise

Turns a long message into a sentence or two.

Most useful on the message somebody wrote at midnight containing four separate requests. Less useful on anything already short, where reading it is faster than asking.

Translate

Detects the language and translates it to English.

If the message is already in English it translates it to another language, guessing at one a global team might speak. That is worth knowing, because asking to translate an English message does something rather than nothing, and the something is a guess.

For a genuinely multilingual team this is the action that earns its place. A message arriving in Arabic or Hindi becomes readable without anybody leaving the conversation or pasting customer content into a public translator, which is the part that matters for anything commercially sensitive.

Draft a reply

Writes a reply and puts it in your composer, where you edit it before sending.

It never sends anything. The draft lands in the box exactly as if you had typed it, and nothing leaves until you press send. A placeholder appears while it works so you can see something is happening.

Best treated as a starting shape rather than an answer, particularly with a customer. It does not know the history you have with that person, and a fluent reply that misses the relationship is worse than a blunt one that lands.

What these cost

All three spend credits, because all three are a language model reading and writing.

They are small: a summary or a translation is a fraction of a credit. But they are not free in the way the rest of chat is, which is why they sit behind a deliberate action rather than happening to every message.

Everything else in Sync Chat costs nothing however much you use it.
