Insights is the sales dashboard. It reads the live pipeline, so the numbers in a Monday review are the state of things on Monday, not a snapshot someone exported last week.
The Headline Numbers
- Total pipeline value - every active deal added up
- Weighted forecast - the same, adjusted by each stage's probability
- Won revenue - closed and won in the period
- Win rate - closed-won as a share of everything that reached an outcome
- Average deal size - across closed deals
- Deal velocity - how fast deals are moving through
Which To Trust
Weighted forecast, over total pipeline value, almost always.
Total pipeline value counts a deal you opened yesterday the same as one out for signature. The weighted figure applies the probability set on each stage, so it answers the question a forecast is actually asked: what is likely to land. Watch the gap between the two - when it widens, the pipeline is filling up at the top without anything reaching the bottom.
Keep in mind
The weighted number is only as honest as the probabilities on your stages. If nobody has set them deliberately, you are weighting by a default. See Pipeline Settings.
The Charts
Pipeline breakdown - deals and value by stage. Shows where the pipeline is heavy: too many deals stuck early, or too few close to closing.
Monthly revenue - closed revenue over six months, for momentum and seasonality.
Activity - calls, emails and meetings over a rolling 30 days, with deal coverage, average touches per deal, and tasks completed. Useful as a leading indicator: activity falls before revenue does.
Win and loss - win rate with won and lost counts beside it.
Currency breakdown - what share of pipeline sits in each currency, which is really a question about geographic concentration and exchange exposure.
Team leaderboard - won deals, logged activity and revenue per person.
Caution
A leaderboard is a coaching tool, not a ranking to publish. Activity counts reward the person who logs diligently as much as the person who sells well, and the two are not the same.
Reading The Period
The period selector changes everything on the page. A month shows whether this month is working; a quarter shows whether the shape is changing. Look at both before concluding anything - a bad month inside a good quarter is noise.
Common Questions
Where do the currency conversions come from? Deals are stored in their own currency and normalised for analytics using the rates in your system settings.
Why is a won deal missing from won revenue? Its stage is probably not typed as closed. Type is what analytics uses to separate live pipeline from settled business - see Pipeline Settings.
Can I build my own view of this? Yes, in Analytics, where you can ask for a metric in plain English and build the report yourself.
